Introducing Our New Headteacher

Dear Parents/Carers

I am delighted and privileged to have been appointed Headteacher at Bader Primary School.

I have been a Primary School teacher for 23 years now, starting my teaching career in Stockton before moving to Middlesbrough as a Deputy Headteacher then becoming a Headteacher in Redcar. During this time, my intention was always to return to my ‘roots’ and hence, I am delighted to be returning to a community school rich in history, in Thornaby.

When I am not at school, my time is taken up with my wife and 2 children, aged 13 and 10, spending family time exploring the great outdoors. I spend a lot of time keeping fit including running and cycling. Also, a big part of my life is following my local football team – ‘the Boro’ – and spend many a happy (and sad) Saturday afternoon watching them!

I am really looking forward to continuing the next chapter in the journey of Bader Primary School and shaping the future of such a wonderful school. I will be working in partnership with yourselves, the children, the staff, the governors and the rest of the community to achieve this goal. My commitment is to excellence and helping each and every child be the best that they can be.

Please take the opportunity of introducing yourself after Easter. If you have an issue or concern about anything concerning your child’s education, do not hesitate to speak to me in the playground or come into school where my door will always be open.

Let us move forward together!

Mr D Hodgson
