Silver School Games Award

Bader is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the silver kitemark for our dedication to PE and school sport. With our great PE lessons, sporting after school clubs, SSOC organisation, and participation in current tag rugby, athletics, netball, football and basketball events at other schools. We are also extremely proud of our inter-school competitions which last year included a full KS2 rounder’s and cross country competition. At Bader we aim to create a platform for our budding young sportsmen and women by forming links with local sporting clubs.

The Sainsbury’s School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark.

To achieve the award many pre-requisites had to be fulfilled. These included: children’s participation and provision of PE/ Games, the number of competitive opportunities both within and outside school that are offered, pupils involvement in the planning and organisation of sporting events and the training of staff – to name but a few.
